Patagonian Scallops
Patagonian Scallops are wild-caught, year-round from the temperate waters of the Argentine Continental Shelf. Like Clearwater’s sea scallops, Patagonian scallops are also frozen-at-sea within an hour of harvest in a custom-designed processing plant. However, unlike sea scallops, Patagonian scallops are also uniquely graded and packed on board. Since 1995, Clearwater has participated in the Patagonian scallop fishery in partnership with Argentinean harvesting partner company Glaciar Pesquera, S.A. The Patagonian scallop fishery was proudly the first scallop fishery in the world to receive Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification in 2006 for sustainable harvesting.
